Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette ♡

“Founded by industry veterans Steve Rohr and John Avolio, Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigous cosmetics brand featuring a full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionalizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Since 1996, Studio Gear has been on set at hundreds of professional photo shoots, in the beauty departments of Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Dillard’s, HSN and ULTA, and also in the everyday woman’s makeup bag. This is a line created true to the concept that every woman deserves professional, high quality cosmetics at a reasonable price.”

Studio Gear sent me a lovely make up palette to review and I was super thrilled to try it! They sent me out one of their holiday palettes and oh my is it gorgeous! They sent me the Holiday Smokey Eye Palette which retails for $40.

Let me start by saying how durable this packaging is. It is in a think magnetic clasped case and the powders are actually in little metal discs for any of you who use the magnet system to hold your make ups for storage. But I love the packaging. As the saying goes “Presentation is everything!”

The top part of the case actually has a little how to look guide which is great for even an expert make up artist. I decided to kind of try out this palette with a bit of help from this, but more of my own creativity.

These are SUPER pigmented. I actually had to tone down the blush because I wasn’t expecting it to be so pigmented! But the colors are very appropriate for the holidays coming up. They almost reminded me of snow in different shades of light. And it is very long lasting. I was even outside in slushy snow for a while today and it still stuck!

Studio Gear has become my new favorite make up line for blush and eyeshadow for sure. I love the packaging and to get good pigmentation from make up anymore seems to be hard to get. Right now the palette is on sale for only $25!

Do you love this palette and want one of your own?

And be sure to use code SGHOLIDAY at checkout for a 10% discount (code does not expire!)

Top 6 Favorite Netflix Shows

I’ve had Netflix for about 3 years now? Which means I have watched a lot of nonsense and a lot of amazing TV series and movies. I have built quite a collection in my instant que on there and I figured I would share with you my top 6 favorite Netflix shows and movies!

SKINS UK (7 Seasons)

I had some trouble getting into this show when I first watched it because it is a British show and the accents kind of threw me off a bit. But once I got passed that, I was sucked in. If you haven’t heard of it, SKINS is about a group of teens coming in and out of problems while getting through school. I say problems lightly though. Their problems are partying, massive amounts of drugs, more sex than any of us would think to be allowed on a television set, teen pregnancies, murder, and the list goes on. The problems depicted in this series are so far out of bounds it is intoxicating. The US tried to make their own (clean) version of the series a few years ago, but it abruptly ended just after one season due to so many complaints from parents about it corrupting their children.

Orange Is The New Black

After Netflix’s train wreck Arrested Development, I was skeptical to watch this. But after watching a few previews online, I jumped in. I watched the entire season in 2 days. I couldn’t get enough of these lady jail birds and their stories and the look into a world most of don’t know much about. Granted I know it is probably nothing like what we seen on TV or in these shows, but it’s an interesting thought. OITNB is based around one women who was a one time lesbian who got wrapped up with a ring leader of a drug cartel and even after leaving her past to find a new and safer life, her past came to haunt her; landing her in prison.

How I Met Your Mother

This show is not given enough credit. I never really caught the episodes when they came on (and still do). I am bad with keeping up with season shows every week.. But HIMYM is just as it’s title says. It is a long story Ted (first on the left) tells his children about how he met their mother and all the other people in their lives.

Drop Dead Diva

This show is super creative. It’s all about how two very different people (a ditzy skinny model blonde, and a heavy, curvy lawyer) end up passing in accidents and one of them couldn’t accept it and broke all the rules and returned herself to the land of the living. But on her way down she didn’t realize she wouldn’t be put back in her body, but into a body that was vacant and available. Now the once ditzy skinny model blonde has to figure out how to be a heavier set, curvy, lawyer.

I spend every morning between 5AM and 8AM to watch I Love Lucy. It is one of my favorite shows of all time. When I came across Lucy, a biographical movie depicting her rise to fame, I was thrilled. I have watched this movie more than anything on my Netflix. This film shows the struggles she face to get herself to where we all know she succeeded, but of course everything came with a price.

The Carrie Diaries

This only recently came onto Netflix, but I am a huge fan of Sex & The City so of course I had to watch this, and I am so glad I did. The Carrie Diaries is about young Carrie Bradshaw in her first experiences in and with NYC and also dealing with the family struggle of losing her mom that year.

Sweater Weather Tag!

I have seen these on a few other blogs/vlogs and I thought it would be so neat to do! Now I wasn’t tagged in it and I’m not going to tag random people, but if you want copy and paste this in the comments and let me know what your sweater weather tags are. OR if you are a fellow blogger please copy and share with me your sweater weather tag :)

1. Favorite candle scent?
- I love the smell of pine needles for fall/winter. It always turns me into this huge holiday junkie.

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
- I can drink any of the 3, but I would pick hot chocolate over everything.

3. What’s the best fall memory you have?
- One year my cousins came up for Thanksgiving and I remember running around and teaching them how to shoot guns and enjoy the country. (They are from NYC)

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
- I love both so that is so hard to choose. But I think dark lips wins right now.

5. Best fragrance for fall?
- Britney Spears Fantasy is my fall scent. Although I tried the new Katy Perry scent and I am thinking I need that for this season.

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food?
- MY MOM’S MASHED POTATOES. They are that good <

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
- Some days it is super bitter and cold out, others we can wear a t-shirt comfortably. I live in Pennsylvania, USA if you were curious.

8. Most worn sweater?
- I don’t really have many sweaters, but I plan on ordering one this weekend coming up. But I wear a lot of sweatshirts and I have to say my favorite is the one my cousin gave me. It’s his HS wrestling sweatshirt and its so big and baggy.

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?
- I am obsessing with nude shades right now.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
- I watch football once in a while on TV, but I would much rather jump in a big pile of leaves!

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
- Leggings. I hate pants. & also don’t judge because I am a chubbish girl who I likes leggings and yogas.

12. Combat boots or Uggs?
- Both really, but I just like boots in general.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
-In my opinion this is gross. I stuff myself with pumpkin bread, but that’s the only kind of pumpkin anything I like.

14. Favorite fall TV show?
- I don’t watch a lot of TV. I am a Netflix lover. But I do know The Carrie Diaries came back on a few weeks ago, So I guess there’s that.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?
- Mellowish music. Like they play though elevator-y jingles in stores around this time and it just brings me fall like feelings.

So there you go :) Hope you enjoyed my small survey like post!

BOX SWAP! w/ Samantha From All The Buzz

A few months ago I made a wonderful new friend who is a world away names Samantha. We had seen some box swaps between other bloggers and we were curious to give it a go. We set a price limit and a day to send out our packages. With $100 limit and about 3 months to collect, we kept in touch and shared concerns with not just our boxes, but with life, and our excitement to share this experience.

(If you don’t know what a box swap is, it is where you literally swap boxes (kind of like a care package) with someone from either another country or state. It can have any kind of theme to it really. We are big beauty junkies, so we went with that!)

We were both pleasantly surprised at the speed our packages arrived to each other, especially with a small hiccup with the present I was to receive. I immediately cut open my box and started playing with my goodies! I am so happy with everything she picked out and sent to me. I was so worried that we would have gotten each other some of the same things, but we didn’t at all! There was so much so I took a bunch of pictures to share with you and let you bask in my goods :)

The last item is my favorite. It is a small bracelet with a braided body and 3 jeweled balls in the center. I have had it on the last 2 days straight!

I loved doing this box swap and I hope we can do something like this again sometime! I have seen some of these things go horribly wrong for some people, and I am so glad I was not one of them, and I am even more glad I didn’t do that to poor Sam!

I am looking forward to trying out these products because I haven’t tried any of the products before, so it will all be a new adventure!

November IPSY Review 2013

$10/month (Free Shipping)

I am finally back!! :) And with an amazing post too! So I got my November Ipsy bag yesterday and I am so happy with it. It is probably my favorite bag to date. This was a huge month for Ipsy because this month they sent everyone 6 products, one of which is a full sized em. Cosmetic. These varied among everyone. The bag itself isn’t the best. I think they could have done a lot better. The gold isn’t really the issue, it’s the pattern they chose for it’ cheap croc print…

Kiss Ever EZ Lashes / I was so excited to see I got these. I am a big fan of fake lashes since I kind of have little ones. Plus they give you a handy little tool to help put them on, which I am so thankful for beings I suck at putting these things on..

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon / Lip crayons are always a win for me. They have more stay power than lipsticks do for me, so WIN!

Nailtini Lacquer / I was so worried that I was going to get the gold color of this, but I was very happy to see I got this silver-y one.

Pixi Bronzer / I actually gave this to my mom. I have a medium-fair skin tone so, these don’t really work well for me. But it is super smooth and my mom loves it.

Star Looks Eye Pencil / I got one of these last month or the month before.. I can’t remember. But I loved it. I use it to make my cat eye because it glides on so well! I highly recommend getting these if you want a high pigment pencil that you can work with.

EM. Cosmetics Waterliner / Everyone complained (including me) that Michelle Phan didn’t offer one of her products in the last bag since her line had just launched. All they gave were little sample things that were good for like half a use.. So it was a HUGE win for everyone to get a taste of her high end collection. Some people got lipsticks, others got lip blush, and some got waterliners. Me being one of them. I was hoping for a gold color instead of the grey because I got a lot of grey in this bag. So a little change up would have been nice, but I am still pleased none the less.

Estimated Bag Total: Over $60!

I am so pleased with this months products and I am really hoping that next month is a Christmas themed bag! If you want to sign up for this bag CLICK HERE and sign up :)
